The Burns family’s new home is now complete on McCall Street.
Ms. Burns lived with her three daughters and two sons in a house rental. She has
one son who is mentally-disabled. Her three daughters used to share a bed in
one room and her two sons have a room. There was a rat infestation problem in
the kitchen as well as a terrible foul odor from the back yard where sewage
drains. The house was poorly-insulated and because of the odor, she kept the air
conditioning unit turned on to help ventilate the house. As a result, she
received high utility bills.
She is very excited to partner with Habitat and what she's learned about constructing her
home so her family can have a better place to live.
