Hattiesburg Area Habitat for Humanity is deeply committed to empowering families with the opportunity to build and buy their own homes. To strengthen our fulfillment of this mission, we have created Habitat HomeWORKS, an educational initiative that guides families along the road to homeownership and beyond.

HomeWORKS is a collection of classes designed to teach new skills and encourage new habits. From financial management and budgeting to home maintenance and repair, our goal is to equip individuals and families to become more self-sufficient and create new opportunities for themselves.

Core classes provide instruction on homeownership, finance and construction. In addition, elective classes address topics that include home decorating, meal planning, employment skills, civic involvement and other diverse subjects, all designed to empower both our Habitat partner families and the community at large.

HomeWORKS is vital to our mission of providing affordable, decent homes for our Hattiesburg area neighbors in need. Along with the bricks and mortar associated with homeownership, HomeWORKS offers the instruction, training and skill to sustain a better life: one individual, one family and one community at a time.
