Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s are calling on women nationwide to unite and build up their communities during the 11th annual National Women Build Week from May 5-13, 2018.

  • During this week, women are given the tools and resources to work together to build Habitat for Humanity homes, addressing the problem of substandard housing in a concrete and meaningful way.
  • Habitat and Lowe’s encourage all women to volunteer—no construction skills or experience in Habitat builds necessary.
  • During Lowe’s “how to” construction clinics, volunteers will gain knowledge and skills in construction and home interior, basic safety techniques and what to expect when building a Habitat home.

National Women Build Week is a nationwide initiative of Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program developed in partnership with Lowe’s. This event brings women together to devote at least one day to help eliminate poverty housing. No experience is necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, and also alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and improves the community that you share. It’s not just for Women, men are invited too.
